Turmeric Latte

Here is a great recipe to keep you warm and cozy during fall and winter: Turmeric Latte! It is a delicious recipe to to boost your immune system and help you cut off caffeine! You can have turmeric latte during the day at your office or before you go to bed while watching your favorite TV show.

Turmeric contains a powerful antioxidant called curcumin which helps neutralize free radicals and, thus, reduce oxidative stress and chronic diseases. Curcumin also boosts your immunity so that you can feel much more energized and strong especially during winter.

Since turmeric has a very distinct, intense flavor, if you are not used to it, try adding it gently or enhance the taste with some honey! You may also add pepper if you want because pepper contains a compound called pepin, which helps  increasing the absorption and effects of turmeric.

Ingredients (serves 2):

  • 2 cups almond milk
  • 1 tsp turmeric powder
  • 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1 tbsp honey or agave syrup
  1. Pour the milk into a saucepan and cook over high heat but don’t bring it to a boil.
  2. Remove from the heat and add the rest of the ingredients. Stir.
  3. Taste and if you prefer add more turmeric, cinnamon or honey.
  4. Serve warm!
